Every checkpoint receives a status, a finding with the exact quote from the label and a recommendation. The conformity decision is made and documented by the user; one analysis costs 1 credit.

If the packaging exists in Packstr, the AI additionally matches the label against GTIN, material structure and recycled content — the photo is not assessed in a vacuum.

Does the label check replace legal advice?
No. The label check is a technical pre-check: the AI delivers findings with exact quotes, while the conformity decision is made and owned by the user. Packstr supports PPWR documentation and is not legal advice.
Which rules are checked?
Two versioned profiles: packaging labelling (incl. material codes under 97/129/EC, Triman/Info-tri for France, Italian environmental labelling, green claims under the EmpCo Directive, GTIN, SUP and deposit marking) and food labelling under the EU FIC Regulation (incl. ingredients, allergens, nutrition, QUID, best-before, caffeine, sweetener and food-supplement notices) — each including the relevant exemptions.
What does an analysis cost?
One analysis costs 1 credit and is available on all plans — the free plan starts with 5 credits. Credits can be topped up as one-off packs (50 credits for €19, 150 credits for €49, net). Credits are only charged when the analysis succeeds.
Which images do I need?
Sharp, complete shots of all labelling-relevant sides — 1 to 5 images per analysis (PNG, JPEG or WebP). Large files and print artwork are resized automatically before upload.
How long does an analysis take?
Typically under two minutes — including a report with status, finding and recommendation per checkpoint.
Does the AI also check against my stored packaging data?
Yes, optionally: if the analysis is linked to a packaging record in Packstr, the AI matches GTIN, material structure and recycled content against the label and reports deviations.
How are results documented?
Every analysis is stored with profile version, AI finding, user decision, timestamp and note, and can be exported as PDF and Excel reports — audit-proof, including for retailer or authority queries.
